Beth Ozmun - Consultant

Meet Beth Ozmun

Beth has a deep understanding of how law firms work and how companies buy legal services. She started her career as an attorney at Fulbright and went on to become a Corporate Vice President in the Law Department and Corporate Secretary for Advanced Micro Devices. In addition, she has served as Chief of Staff to a CEO. As a result, she is ideally suited to help lawyers create workable business development plans, goals and strategies that support client needs and that address client concerns. In her free time, Beth likes to read, travel, and spoil her dog, Olive.

What excites you about working with lawyers and law firms?

I enjoy working with people. Everyone has a different story — learning each story is an important foundation for our work together. Plus, we have fun.

What advice would you give to an associate who’s about to make partner?

Grow, tend, and care for your network.

How does your past experience help you in your job?

I have managed a multitude of legal services over the course of my career — big ticket litigation, smaller cases, transactional legal services, employment legal services, antitrust, corporate, intellectual property — the full spectrum. I’ve also attended C-suite meetings where legal services have come under the microscope for review. Having started my career at a large law firm, I have firsthand experience with law firm policies and practices. My experience provides insight into the needs of the attorney and of the client base.

Describe a unique moment in your career.

Taking a deposition in Japan — which can only be done with a special deposition visa and can only be done at the US Embassy in Tokyo or the US Consulate in Osaka. Who knew?

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I am a certified scuba diver. (This does not necessarily mean that I love to dive.)
